On March 29, 2019, with the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Press Conference of 2019 World Industrial Design Conference & Industrial Design World Expo (2019 WIDC&IDWE) was successfully held in Vienna, Austria at 10 a.m. local time.

The Press Conference officially announced to the world that 2019 World Industrial Design Conference & Industrial Design World Expo (2019 WIDC&IDWE) will take place in Yantai, China, on October 18. With a more open and sharing attitude, China is inviting global design elites to come to Yantai, Shandong, one of the birthplaces of national industry of China, so as to jointly promote the design industry towards a better, more sustainable, more ecological, and more cultural development. More than 100 people from governments, international institutions and organizations attended the press conference, including representatives from United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), People's Government of Yantai Municipal, China Industrial Design Association (CIDA), Service Design Network, Sino-German Industrial Design Center, design organizations from European countries, design institutes, leading enterprises and international media.
